Travelling to Aviemore
You can reach Aviemore by public transport or by car:
You can travel to Aviemore by train; it is on the main line to Inverness from Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Aviemore is just off the A9 - the main road between Perth and Inverness. There are buses southwards to Aviemore from Inverness bus station, and northwards from Glasgow (Buchanan) and Edinburgh bus stations.
You can fly to Glasgow, Edinburgh or Inverness (small airport) and then continue by train, bus or car to Aviemore.
Aviemore is just off the A9 - the main road between Perth and Inverness.
From the south, if you pass through Edinburgh, follow signs for the Forth Road Bridge and Perth; if coming from Glasgow, head for Stirling on the M8 and M80 and then follow the M9/A9 for Perth. From Perth, take the A9 north passing Pitlochry and Newtonmore. The turning for Aviemore is on the right, after Kincraig. If you get to Carrbridge, you have gone too far!
From the north, follow the A9 south from Inverness, passing Carrbridge. The turning for Aviemore is on the left. If you get to Kincraig, you have gone too far!
Braeriach is situated on the Lochan Mor estate, off the main road at the north end of Aviemore.
Travelling northwards through Aviemore village, pass the village centre and the Dalfaber development on your right. Lochan Mor is the next development on the right.
When you turn into Lochan Mor you will be on Dougal Drive, turn left at the small junction (Jones Road), then left again into Mitchell Road. Braeriach is the third house on the right (12 Mitchell Road).
